1. Overview

This page explains how and when your Cherry Letters are mailed, and what to do if something goes wrong in the post. The binding rules live in our Terms & Conditions, Sections 7 to 11; this page is the plain-language version.

‍

2. Where we ship

We mail within the United States and internationally.

‍

3. When letters are mailed

Letters go out twice a month, on our published Cherry Days, for the length of your story. A full 26-letter story runs about 13 months. The same schedule applies whether you are on a monthly plan or a prepaid plan.

Our current mailing dates are on our mailing dates page.

Everything is printed, packed, and mailed by hand from Los Angeles, usually by one person. We have not missed a mail-out date yet, but please be patient with us! Delays may occur around federal holidays due to federally recognized holidays.

‍

4. How long delivery takes

Delivery times depend on the postal service and your destination. They are estimates, not guarantees.

  • Domestic (US): usually within five days of our mail send-off, though most letters arrive well before that. All Domestic letters have real-time tracking provided via email. See below for more details.
  • International: longer, and it varies a lot by country. Your first letter in particular may take a while.

‍

5. Tracking

Every domestic letter goes out with a tracking code, and you will get email updates as it passes postal checkpoints. If you would rather not have the extra emails, let us know.

For international mail we cannot offer real-time tracking. That is a postal service limitation, not a choice on our end.

‍

6. Discreet mailing

Our standard envelopes are red, with a story stamp and our logo on the seal. If you would rather your mail not announce itself, we offer discreet mailing at no extra cost: a plain white envelope, handwritten address, no markings.

Email cherryletterclub@gmail.com to request it and we will apply it to your next mailing.

‍

7. Keeping your address current

You can update your address from your billing page at any time, or email us.

A few things worth knowing:

  • Tell us 3 to 4 weeks before you move. We prepare and pack letters ahead of their mail date, so a late change may not reach us in time for the next mailing.
  • A USPS forwarding order will not forward your letters. Filing a change of address with the post office updates your mail generally, but it does not reliably redirect mail of this class. Update your address with us directly.
  • If letters keep going missing at an address we have confirmed is correct, we may ask you for an alternate delivery address before we carry on mailing.

‍

8. If a letter doesn't arrive, or arrives wrong

Email cherryletterclub@gmail.com and we will sort it out. Please tell us within 60 days of the letter's mail date.

  • Lost in the post. If tracking shows no movement, or the letter has not arrived within the window above, we will send a replacement at no cost.
  • Damaged or missing pieces. Send us a photo if you can and we will replace it at no cost.
  • Undeliverable because the address was out of date. We will replace up to two mail pieces. Past two, we are not able to keep replacing letters lost to an address that has not been corrected.

We send an address confirmation email after checkout, so it is worth a quick look to catch typos before letters start.

‍

9. Refunds are separate

A replacement is not the same as a refund, and one does not rule out the other. If you are being billed and your first letter still has not reached you, you may be owed money back as well as a replacement. See our Refund Policy.

‍

10. International mail

Any customs fees, import duties, or taxes charged by your country are your responsibility and are not included in your subscription price. We cannot predict them or collect them on your behalf.
