This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Cherry Letter Club collects, how we use it, and what choices you have. It applies to our website and to your subscription or purchase with us, and works alongside our Terms & Conditions.
For the purposes of data protection law, Cherry Letter Club is the controller of your personal information. You can reach us at cherryletterclub@gmail.com or 1001 Gayley Ave Ste 105, PO Box #24302, Los Angeles, CA 90024.
Our online store is hosted by Shopify, which also collects and processes information about your visit in order to provide the store to us. For some of its own features, Shopify acts as a controller in its own right; see the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy for how it handles that information.
Order and subscription information including your name, shipping address, billing address, email address, the story you subscribed to, your plan and renewal dates, and the delivery status of your letters. Payment details are processed by our payment provider; we do not store your full card number.
Mailing preferences, including a request for discreet mailing. See Section 7, which explains how we treat this.
Recipient information when you buy a subscription as a gift, meaning the recipient's name and mailing address. See Section 8.
Communications with us, meaning anything you send us directly, such as a support email or a request to pause, resend, or cancel.
Content you share with us, such as photos of your letters, reviews, testimonials, or fan art you send us or tag us in on social media. How we may use these is covered in our Terms & Conditions.
Device and browsing information including IP address, browser type, time zone, and how you interact with our site, collected through cookies and similar tools.
We collect this information directly from you, automatically as you use the site, and from the service providers listed in Section 5.
We use your information to produce, address, and mail your letters; to bill you and manage your subscription; to communicate with you about your account; to provide customer support; to keep the site secure; and to meet our tax and legal obligations. If you opt in to our email list, we also use your email address to send occasional newsletters and promotions, separate from order-related emails.

Our site uses cookies and similar tools to remember your preferences and understand how visitors use the site. Shopify sets some of these itself in order to operate the store.
We do not currently run advertising trackers or ad pixels. If we add them, we will update this policy to name them and explain your opt-out options before doing so.
If you ask us for discreet mailing, we record that preference so we can pack and address your envelope accordingly. We treat this as sensitive information.
We use it only to prepare and mail your letters. We do not use it for marketing, we do not segment or target you based on it, and we do not share it with anyone outside the people who physically pack your mail. We keep it only for as long as your subscription is active, and you can ask us to remove it at any time.
We understand why someone might need this, and we would rather hold the information carefully than have anyone feel unsafe receiving their mail.
When you buy a subscription as a gift, you give us the recipient's name and mailing address. We use that information only to produce and deliver their letters and to provide support related to that order. We do not market to gift recipients and we do not add them to our mailing list unless they sign up themselves.
Please provide someone's details only if you have their permission. A recipient can contact us at any time to ask what we hold about them or to have it deleted.
If you sign up for our newsletter or promotional emails, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email, or by emailing cherryletterclub@gmail.com. Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not affect order or account emails related to an active subscription.
We keep order and transaction records for at least seven years to meet our tax and accounting obligations. We keep marketing contact details until you unsubscribe, and for a short period afterward so we can honor your request. We keep account and subscription information for as long as your subscription is active and for a reasonable period after it ends. Discreet mailing preferences are kept only while your subscription is active.
We limit access to your personal information to the people who need it to produce and mail your letters or to support you. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, so please do not send us sensitive information through unsecured channels.
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by emailing cherryletterclub@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to object to or request restriction of our processing, the right to receive a copy of your information in a portable format, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before you withdrew it.
We will respond to requests within one month, and will tell you if we need longer because a request is complex.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
We operate from the United States, and letters are mailed from Los Angeles. If you are outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed there.
Where we transfer personal information out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or the equivalent UK mechanism, unless the transfer is to a country recognized as providing adequate protection.
Our Service is intended for adults. By using our site or subscribing, you confirm you are 18 years or older, or otherwise of legal age to access adult content in your jurisdiction.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under that age. If we become aware that we have, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us at cherryletterclub@gmail.com.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version here and update the "Last updated" date above, and will provide notice where required by law.
