The Kingdom of Sablestone, 1027 A.D.
The air reeks of desperation, of despair, and of general rot.
Everyone’s to blame except the people in charge. And thank goodness they act so quickly. Who else will keep the realm safe from the next unnamed evil force?
Rhiannon Age: 24 years old, (she/her)
was just coming to terms with the death of her mother when her world turns upside, yet again. She just wants to drink herself senseless.
At her father’s funeral, Rhiannon pours herself another goblet of wine and brings it to her lips, when the music stops her in her tracks.
Joan Age: 23 years old, (she/her)
did everything right. She taught herself how to read, how to play music, how to elongate her neck to the acceptable length.
And it worked. The king demanded that she play for the court, and there, she caught the attention of Lord Otto, who owned an army of 500 men and was second only to the king himself.

This story originally took the shape of a feature-length screenplay. It was an unbelievably creatively-fulfilling experience find that I was able to capture the story in letters and see it take on a whole new, interactive, immersive life of its own. I hope these pages transport you to a world where there is beauty to be found, even in the midst of seemingly insurmountable hardship.
